Cooperation & Play Program - For Parents

There are two areas of focus within the Cooperation & Play Program:

  1. Learning how to play FAIR
  2. Learning new games to play during free time

Your child will have the opportunity to learn new games and creative ways to play with others during unstructured playtimes. Children who participate in this program will learn to play fairly by accepting others, including everyone, being respectful and friendly.

Try this game with your children...

GAME: CATCH-A-FLY

Materials : A ball

The group stands in a circle. Each player cups their hands as if they are holding a fly. One player stands in the middle holding a ball. The player in the middle must gently lob the ball or pretend to lob the ball to any player. The player who is passed the ball must either catch the ball if thrown or not open their hands if it was not thrown. If a rule is broken, the player sits down until one player remains.

Ask your child some questions...

  • What does it means to play "FAIR"?
  • What was your favourite game you learned with Dynamix?
  • What questions should you ask yourself to make sure you are playing FAIR?
  • What does it mean to be a good sport?
  • Is it ok to make mistakes?
  • What does it mean to include others?
  • What is a consequence?
